Ask the sitters you already know. In your order. One at a time.
Babysit keeps a list of the babysitters you trust, picked from your phone's contacts or typed in. When you need someone, one paid request asks your sitters in turn, in the order you choose, and waits the time you set before moving on. The first to say they're free is shown to you, and you carry on in your usual messaging app. Plans changed? Pause and resume the same request. It ends by itself when the sitting does, and next time your order, wait time, hours and note are already filled in.
How it works
Four steps, and you never leave your own phone.

Build your list
Add the sitters you already use, from your contacts or by typing a name and number. Say whether they've agreed to hear from you, or send them a one-tap invitation from your own phone.

Set up a request
Pick the date and hours, put your sitters in the order you'd like to ask them, choose how long to wait for each reply, and add a note if you want. You see the price and the sitter limit before you pay.

Ask in order
Babysit texts your first sitter with the times and a private link. "I'm available" pauses the queue and tells you straight away. "Not this time" or no reply moves to the next sitter.

Carry on in your messaging app
Agree the rate and details with your sitter the way you always do. Record who's coming, and the others hear they're no longer needed. The request keeps its history when the sitting ends.
What it costs
One payment per request. The price is shown in the store.
Included in a request
Asking up to 20 of your sitters for one sitting, pausing and resuming, late replies, adding a sitter before the sitting starts, and asking your chosen sitter to confirm. Nothing renews and there is no subscription.
Always free
Keeping your list, calling or messaging a sitter yourself, invitations and reminders sent from your phone, and your history of past requests.
What you pay for
Coordination only. You pay Apple or Google once per request, in your local currency, at the price the store shows. Sitters are paid by you, directly, as agreed between you. A new sitting is a new request. See the terms for the replacement request we give when a technical failure stops every message.
If you're a sitter
Got a text about babysitting? You don't need an app.
A parent who has your number saved you on their list. A request text tells you who is asking and when, and the private link lets you say "I'm available" or "Not this time". Saying you're available doesn't book you; the parent will get in touch to agree the details.
AnyoneTo texts you itself only after you've said yes on your own permission page (the one exception: a parent whose device can't send texts, whose first ask we pass on for them). Every text has a link to stop, and the page has "Stop requests from [name]" and "Report unwanted messages". If you'd rather we did it for you, support can stop the texts.
Private by design
Babysit never uploads your address book, never reads your messages, and never sends a sitter your private notes. We run no advertising trackers and sell nothing about you. The whole picture is in the Babysit privacy notice; deleting your account is one confirmed step in the app.
